Made in the USA: STATE Frames handmade in Chicago, IL
I am so excited about the frames we have to offer here at Twenty Twenty, I wanted to spend some time highlighting my favorite brands and why I love them. Today we are going to take a look at STATE:
One of the things we have tried to do at Twenty Twenty is step outside of the norm with our frames, and pick brands that are not necessarily mainstream but are awesome nonetheless.
Did you know that 95% of all glasses frames are manufactured outside of the United States? This may not be surprising, but it is disturbing. So when I found out that there was a frame company making frames in Chicago, I knew we had to carry them. What an awesome way to support a local company who is bringing manufacturing jobs to the US.
The STATE brand frames have an awesome retro look and feel to them. My favorite feature is that they have longer arms, with a specialized end that makes them fit SO. COMFORTABLY. I sometimes have trouble finding a plastic frame that is comfortable for me, and these ones just fit really well.
Of course, I had to take these babies for a spin in the photo booth:
If you want to find out more about STATE frames, or watch a cool "How it's made" type video, I highly recommend checking out the STATE Optical website and their Facebook page. They also offer FREE tours of their facility in Chicago.
And of course, feel free to stop in to Twenty Twenty any time if you want to try on a pair of these awesome made-in-the-USA frames. ENJOY!
